Thursday

Feeling Blue...

I always get so excited when my pottery barn catalog comes in the mail, not because I'm going to buy anything but because I know I will be inspired!  As usual, I was again this time.  As I was flipping through, this room caught my eye...

I love this shade of blue, so pretty and the contrast with the black, brown, and caramel tones is just perfect.  My husband doesn't know this yet, but I would love to paint our office this color!  I love that pottery barn lists the colors of the rooms in their catalog because sometimes it's hard to tell what a color will look like on the wall.  This one is called Newburyport Blue, by benjamin moore.

So, let's pretend we are in a dream world and I could recreate this room with no particular budget in mind.  Here are some pieces I think would work great!

some nice lanterns.

or maybe a nice big lantern chandelier like this.  I have plans to DIY this one day.  To be continued...

maybe a nice jute rug for some added texture and interest

or maybe one like this

maybe some nice wall letters like they have in the pottery barn pic.  I actually have a few of these from Hobby Lobby.  You can get them for $5 when they go on sale.

probably would paint this a different color to tone down the bright gold, maybe a nice bronze or cream color.

and this desk and chair would look pretty great in there too...

and this lovely Ikat chair from Urban Outfitters would tie the blue in nicely...

maybe some mirrored frames mixed in with some wooden and metal frames for some texture and interest on the wall....

and of course you need a great mirror to break up all that blue...

and you always need some extra lamps...

Hope you all have a great Thursday, it's almost Friday, woo hoo!

Too funny! Was looking at that PB pic last night and thinking about incorporating the letters I have in the house into our pic display!

It's nice to have a plan - drat that pesky budget! I'd like the ikat chair and the mirrored frames too.

Just found your blog today and became your newest follower. Now I can see why. I got my catalog yesterday and this room caught my eye more than any of the others as well. It just stands out. And I love that its dark but not too dark...it makes a statement!

Hey Bethany, I featured you over at All Things Thrifty today! Feel free to grab a "featured button" and wear it proud. I LOVED your dresser redo. I'm sure that readers are going to ask what color you painted it. Do you mind letting me know so I can post the color? Thank you for sending it to me! Love your style!

This color combo looks fab in "real life" too! My best friend just did this in her home (using Benjamin Moore paint recommended from PB) and it is FABULOUS!

The modern world is characterized by a fast paced lifestyle. In a world driven by cell phones, one of the few things that make people crazy is their mobile phone run out of battery! Therefore, portable chargers for iphone are a must have product for people. If you want to know some online stores which offer iphone cases, now, we are recommending one professional online store to you, which is wanled-opto.com. It offers two-fold protection with a hard plastic surface traverse and a gentle silicone interior track. It has good shock absorption tell and good rubber grip. IT has a thick rim that branches above the iPhone's move secrete that adds to the protection.

Okay, you have a good car gps navigation that you have used for a few months now, and know it well. Since it is portable, then why not take it along on the next hike and let the GPS show you the way down the forest trail? GPS receivers for outdoors and those meant for cars are two completely different systems. Auto units have larger screens, come with cigarette-lighter adapters and have audible driving directions. It is what they do not have that make them unsuitable for the trail. They lack features like altimeters, electronic compasses, barometers, and resistance to being damaged by the elements.
