Necklace Hanger

Couldn't think of a catchy title for this one...I have to give a shout out to my friend Jamie who inspired this project.  I saw hers and loved it so I made one of my own.

It started with this frame in my garage.  On a side note, I've been on a major decluttering get rid of stuff that's not locked down or nailed up kick.  I don't know what's gotten into me, but I'm on a roll.  So, that's what also inspired these jewelry organizers.

So, anyway, I took this frame, removed the picture and spraypainted it gold.  It was already gold but it was pretty beat up.

Next, I attached some branches to the back of it using screws and then reinforced it a bit with some E6000 glue.  Some of my larger necklaces are a little heavy and I wanted some extra reinforcement.

This was before I added all of my necklaces (I wanted to make sure the glue was good and dry before I added the heavier pieces) but I got a little impatient and wanted to see it with at least some of them on there.  This lighting is weird in this spot of the house so the shadows make the paint look uneven, but it's not in real life.

Thursday

If you like it put an (ear)ring on it

Just popping in with a simple DIY inspired by all the adorable jewelry holders in the blog world.  I've wanted to make one of these for a while but never got around to it.  I figured it was the perfect little project to tackle while my little bun (that what we call my daughter) took a nap.

I started with this frame I had in the garage that I had previously DIYed.  It was ok but the tree turned out a little halloweenish.  So, time for makeover number 2.  I gave it a coat of gold spraypaint, removed the picture, and added some hardware cloth (I bought mine in the garden section at Lowe's).  I just screwed the hardware cloth to the back.

and here we have it....

Now this isn't quite as big as I would like it to be, but it works for the jewelry that I wear most often and I can rotate it out if I want to and I already had all the supplies for this one.

Next project, necklace holder...

Free Headboard

Free headboard on the side of the road?  Don't mind if I do.  I whipped the car around and loaded it right in.  The ironic thing about this is, I had driven by this same house and seen this same headboard for sale at a yard sale a few weeks ago but didn't have time to stop.  So, when I saw it on the curb I was elated.  It still had the $20 sticker on it from the yard sale which I would have paid if I had been able to stop.  Looks like I just saved myself $20! :)
