Mini Lamp Makeover

I've had this lamp in the garage for the longest time, just waiting for it's makeover.  I've put myself on a thrifting/spending hold until I can finish all the projects in the garage.  That will be quite the feat but all the "stuff" in there is driving me and my husband nuts.

Anyway, onto the lamp!  It started out pretty worn and old looking.  I love the hobnail milk glass and wanted the whole thing to have a cohesive look.  I thought it would be cool to paint the wooden parts white to give the appearance that the whole thing is milk glass.

so I taped it off and sprayed it white...I also added a drum shade to make it feel more updated.  I think it would be the perfect addition to any room.  It's in the booth now just waiting for a new home!

How simple was that and SO much better. I wouldn't have thought to paint it. Genius.

I made one very similar to this... I couldn't pass up the lamp at a salvation army store because I LOVE milk glass, and even though it's in my bedroom, I thought it would make a nice addition to the milk glass collection.

I spray painted the wood piece in the middle turquoise and kept the bottom white. I love the pop of color it brings, but i love yours too - it looks so elegant and classic!

These are great! I just found your post while looking for makeover possibilities for some milk glass lamps I just bought. I'm debating whether to paint the wood parts of mine. (I posted about the dilemma over on my blog if you'd like to take a look! Having done it yourself, I'd love your opinion! http://richerfullerbe.blogspot.com/2012/12/vintage-milk-glass-lamps.html)
