Design Takeaways

We spent last week at the beach and it was wonderful!  The weather was perfect and it's always nice to get away and have a little family time.  While we were there, we popped into a few shops and I found a few things that inspired me and might inspire you too!

I'm not usually a fan (no pun intended) of fans, but I know they are super functional and a must for some people.  While we were eating at Tupelo Honey, (side note: you have to try it if you have one near you, their biscuits are amazing!) I looked up and saw these great fans.  They were all interconnected and seemed to be working together.  I just loved the industrial look of them.  Actually that whole restaurant was beautiful, I wish I had snapped a few more pictures.

We also made a quick stop into Pottery Barn.  I don't usually buy anything in there, but I'm always inspired by their vignettes.  I loved these lemon pillows and those wood beads.  I have got to find some of those!

I've had my eye on this light for a while and I think it's even prettier in person!

And of course we had to run into Anthro.  This little end table was a fortune, of course, but I just loved the lucite knobs and legs.  It would be a great DIY/knockoff project!  Maybe I'll attempt it sometime.

And if you follow me on instagram (dwellingsbydevore) you already saw these, but I was so drawn to these agate knobs.  They were a little pricey, but they were oh so pretty.  I think I may have to go back and grab a few for an upcoming DIY.

I also spotted this pom pom quilt at Marshall's that looks almost identical to the much pricier Ballard Designs version

And lastly, the Kate Spade dressing room had me wanting to makeover my closet.  I love the black and white wallpaper paired with the green velvet.  Such a great combo!

The week away did me good.  I came back ready to tackle some projects that have been hanging over my head.  I'm happy to say I've already almost finished painting our guest bedroom and a dresser that's been in our garage for far too long.  It's good to be back!
