Random thoughts

If you follow me on instagram (dwellingsbydevore) some of this is old news, but I thought I'd share a few things I've come across lately and a few good deals.

These service bells were huge.  They were at homegoods, by the register where they put all the fun stuff.  I almost convinced myself I needed one.  Who couldn't use an oversized bell?  I wish I had put something beside it so you could see the scale, they were definitely super sized which is part of what made them so appealing.

Also at Homegoods, I hit the clearance section at the right time and grabbed this set of three Kate Spade prints for $2.  The retail price on the back was $45.  I'd say that's a pretty good deal.  I'm framing the "Join The Circus" print for my daughter's room.  I just love the gold foil.

Then at Target these tables are only $7.50!  Wouldn't they look great with the legs spraypainted gold?  Someone commented that they are a little on the short side, but I guess it could work for a low profile sofa or bed.

And these storage ottomans were around $10.  The black ones are really versatile and could look great under a console in an entryway.

These stools also caught my eye because they would be so easy to makeover and they were cheap too.

I made a quick stop into Goodwill and came across this Baby Gap jacket for my baby girl.  It looks brand new!  There are many times when I walk out of there empty handed which is why I was so happy to come across this gem.

I ran into IKEA today to grab some RITVA curtains, they really are the best, and spied a few things.  First, this basket for $9.99.  You can probably tell from the picture, but it's not the sturdiest.  However, I think it would make a really fun light fixture.  Just turn it upside and add a light kit.

I also really liked these cabinets, especially that minty green one in the middle...

And lastly, I've finally finished this dresser.  I thought it would be a great idea to strip it, which never turns out the way I hope it will.  I have these visions of the finish just scraping right off, but that's never really the way it goes, is it?  Anyways, it's painted and done now.  I just have to stage it and take some pictures.  I'll be sharing the "after" soon!

Okay, so I LOVE shopping posts like this! Except now I'm itching to actually go for REAL shopping and pick up some giant bells or something. Can't wait to see how your dresser turns out!

Love your shopping finds!! Love your dresser too, looking forward to seeing the pics. I always have high hopes when using strippers and then I'm always let down ... it turns into such a mess!!

You know I feel your pain on stripping the dresser! I've done my table twice this week, and another dining table as well. I think I've had my fill for a while. :) Can't wait to see how yours turned out! Loving the basket light idea. I walked through Target tonight and saw lots of those great buys as well. Those side tables would be cool stacked 3 or 4 high like a tower for storage if someone could figure out a way to secure them together.

The circus print is so awesome, what a lucky find. And I have thought about buying service bells so many times but with kids in the house I think I'd be ready to shoot myself after just a day because I know they'd use it non-stop ;)

haha, I actually had that same thought. I'm sure my daughter would figure it out really quickly and it would end up being her favorite toy!

Great finds!! I could have really used that big bell when I was in bed nursing all day after I had my daughter. I'm sure my hubby would have loved it. ;-)

Oh I love those bells! I could open the door and ding it for dinner like the old days:) I love the finish on them and the hammered look. I made a hanging basket light over my sons bed a few years ago and they are the best! So inexpensive and look so great! That little jacket is adorable:) Love finding treasures!!
