More on the office...

The office is moving right along, I'm hoping to get lots more done this weekend and have more pictures to show you!  That's the fun part.

Here are my plans...

Find a loveseat just like this one, been scouring Craigslist with no luck yet...

make this awesome DIY light...

image and instructions found here

recover my chair cushion in something fun like the nester did here

Spraypaint this Hobby Lobby mirror gold, I'm just not feeling the current finish on it, doesn't really "go" with everything else I'm doing...

or return it and make this DIY wood shim mirror from addicted to decorating.

hang some curtains, I'm thinking either these solid gray ones from IKEA...(these curtains come in several different colors and are my favorite to use, they are extra long and only $19.99!)  I wouldn't use the tie backs, just let them hang

or do a DIY version of these curtains the Kristen has in her living room using the same IKEA curtain panels (only white) and a dark gray for the pattern.

and get a fiddle leaf fig tree!  I love the look of them and always think it's a great idea to add something living to a room.

I first saw these lovely trees on Design Star in Emily Henderson's final room.  I thought it was so cool and a little funky, just the right touch for that room.  Ever since, I've been smitten.

unsure of the source for this one?

I think I'm going to stop by a local nursery this afternoon on my way home from work and pick one up.  I hear they are fairly easy to take care of, let's hope that's the case because my thumb is far from green.

Also, a HUGE thank you to Megan from A Lived in Home for featuring my black bathroom.
Check it out here!

I'm loving all your ideas. I recently bought one of those trees and it's lasted me a few weeks. That's a good sign for me. I thought I would kill it right away. Hopefully it continues to survive.

I love the settee, so cute. I hope you can find one soon so you can share how you will transform it. I am glad you shared about the mirrors, I have been looking for something fun. I might just have to stop by hobby lobby today to check out some of those.

yay! so glad its all starting to come along- good luck on the settee. There is this one from Home Decorators- but it would def.need to be recovered.

Speaking of fig trees, I got a small one at Home Depot and it is growing pretty fast. The good thing is it was only $10. I have seen the large ones at Pikes [a local nursery here in Atlanta] for about $100.00. I put mine outside and have been pulling off the bottom leaves. They do like a lot of light! Love all of your ideas...hope you find everything on the list :)
